Kathryn J. Klendworth - February 29, 2004

DANA -- Kathryn J. Klendworth, 81, of Dana died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 29, 2004) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

Born Nov. 17, 1922, in Livingston County, a daughter of John and Barbara Schieler Crow, she married Willis B. Klendworth on Sept. 18, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He died in July of 1994.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Burdell Crow.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Schmillen, Streator; and Barbara (Robert) Rossman, Rutland; one brother, Aldace (Irene) Crow, Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Hazel (John) Goodson, Prattville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Mark (Amy) Rossman, Marcy Rossman, Marty (Minda) Rossman, Katie (Dustin) Muntz, and Kerri Schmillen; and five great-grandchildren, Josh, Kara, Kyle, Tyler and Cody.

Kathryn dedicated her life to teaching the youth of today by serving as a 4-H leader for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Long Point Home Extension and had served in the past on the Livingston County Board. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dana, where she had served as a longtime Sunday school teacher.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. The Rev. Connie Jenkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Dana Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Dana United Methodist Church or to the Livingston County 4-H memorial.
